Bored with
public computer terminals?
If you're ever at a public terminal and you find yourself getting itchy fingers and want to see what's on the hard drive, just go into a browser (these should be available) and type file:/// in the location bar. This will grant you Read-Only access to the files on the computer. I'm still trying to work out how to enable some of the Netscape functions. This has only been tried on Netscape, by the way. submitted by: Zaphod This works with Windows 9x or NT. If you are ever at a public terminal and want to see what's on the hard drive but there is no noticeable way to do this, put the cursor over the Start button, right-click, and choose Explore--there you go. If they've locked you out of doing that and the
keyboard is a Win9x keyboard, hover the cursor over the Start
button (you may actually need to press the Start
button instead of just hovering) and press the Menu
key (just to the right of the right Win
key). |
