Sick of downloading through the Web browser?

Sick of downloading through your browser?

Picture this: You just heard about Netscape's newest release of their beta for Netscape Navigator 3.0. You click through their user-friendly website just like every other Netsurfer. You then proceed to specify your country, location, etc. and you let your computer do the rest. Your computer proceeds to download Netscape for about half an hour. You decide to walk away from your computer and come back in about half an hour when the download should be completed. Notice I said should.

Imagine your surprise when you return half an hour later and find that Netscape has dropped to a microscopic transfer rate (so slow that you might as well turn your computer off and start over) or maybe even ended the transfer prematurely.

Well, have no fear, and certainly don't start over. Boot up the old FTP_32 (or any ftp client), login to the Netscape website with an anonymous login, click through a few file folders, then pick the Netscape version you have been waiting for.

Now you can walk away knowing that FTP will bring the file to your machine error-free and notify you when the download has completed.
