Guess my password

Want to remove someone's logon password in Windows 95? Here's how:

1) When you are asked to logon, click Cancel
2) Locate a file with the extension of .pwl in the Windows directory. This is the password file. You want to delete the one that matches the logon name. For example, if your logon name is JEVANS, you want to delete the file JEVANS.PWL
3) Reboot your machine
4) It will automatically use the same logon name that was there before, but this time you can make up a password. Enter a password of your own choosing
5) You'll then have to verify the password by retyping it.

At that point, you should have complete access to the system you are logging into.

Network Utilities . . .

It is not well known that the familiar UNIX utilities of telnet, ftp and ping are available in Windows 95. Simply enter their names from the Start/Run dialog to run them.
